1. Secure a repeatable shelter loop
Use the first sessions to learn the route between safe space, nearby resources, and a place where you can store what you cannot replace. A predictable return route matters more than a large first haul.
2. Learn one system at a time
- Gather enough material to understand the crafting and building flow before expanding the base.
- Test farming and hunting with small quantities so a failed experiment does not consume the whole reserve.
- Treat electricity as a later multiplier: first learn what the base needs, then add powered systems deliberately.
3. Keep the story and exploration loop flexible
The Steam listing says the game can be followed as a story or played as free exploration. Pick one clear goal for a session, then return to shelter before the next goal turns into an unplanned resource drain.
4. Co-op needs shared priorities
- Agree on one base task and one exploration task before splitting up.
- Leave a short note about stored materials and unfinished recipes.
- If a raid or zombie encounter goes wrong, regroup at the base instead of extending the risk.
